A rural Preston road has been closed due to flooding with police diverting traffic.
Heavy and persistent rain is causing difficult driving conditions in and around Preston with no sign of the rain easing until New Year’s Day morning.
Motorists are being warned to avoid Bilsborrow Lane in Inglewhite at the junction with Scotch Green Lane. The closure was put in place around 6pm on Tuesday (31 December).

A flood warning has been issued for two brooks at Ribchester, Boyces Brook and Duddel Brook which are just off the River Ribble.
Elsewhere a flood alert is in place for the Lower River Ribble and River Darwen around Walton-le-Dale.
A flood alert is also in force at the Upper River Wyre at Brock near Catterall.
A Met Office warning for heavy rain is in force until 11am on New Year’s Day (Wed 1 January 2025).
