Fallen trees and a crash have closed the A59 between Longton and Penwortham.
Emergency services are on the scene at Hutton close to the roundabout and the Lancashire Police headquarters.
Update: A man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene
The road is shut in both directions following the crash and tree fall around 9am on Saturday (7 December).

It is not known if the tree fall and crash are connected at this stage.
The A59 is closed from the Hickory’s roundabout to the junction with Chapel Lane.
Traffic is being diverted through Liverpool Road via Longton.
An amber alert of strong winds is in force until 9pm on Saturday as Storm Darragh sweeps through Preston and Lancashire.
