London Way reopens between Capitol Centre and Bamber Bridge as delays ease

London Way was closed on a busy stretch between the Capitol Centre roundabout and Bamber Bridge.

Three cars are understood to be involved in the crash on the A6.

Preston Police said the road was closed temporarily while the vehicles are recovered from the scene.

The crash took place around 12.30pm on Sunday (15 December).

It causee delays in both directions approaching the roundabout where the A6 meets Hennel Lane at Walton-le-Dale and then again where the A6 meets the Brownedge Road at the roundabout in Bamber Bridge.

A police spokesperson said: “We want to update you and let you know that London Way, Bamber Bridge is currently closed from the Capitol Centre roundabout to Brownedge Road roundabout. This is due to a road traffic collision.

“We anticipate that the road will be closed for a short amount of time, whilst we clear the road and assess the situation.

“In the meantime, we’d recommend delaying your journey or looking for an alternative route and driving carefully, leaving plenty of extra time to get to your destination.”

London Way reopened around 1.30pm.
