Vintage-inspired weekend of music and fashion coming to Preston venue

A vintage-inspired weekend of music and fashion is coming to a Preston venue.

Chew’s Yard in Market Street West will host An Evening With The Bobbysocks on Saturday 16 November, featuring music, games, quizzes and dancing.

The Bobbysocks are a three-part harmony vintage girl group based in Manchester and Hebden Bridge.

Originally inspired by the music of groups like The Andrews Sisters, they serve up a mix of 1930s and 40s classics as well as contemporary covers and many of their own creations in an alt-country/swing style.

Having previously performed at Kendal Calling, Just So Festival and Manchester International Festival, this is the first performance for the group in Preston.

The Bobbysocks will be supported by Sass and Pepper, a Preston-based quintet whose soulful melodies are said to meld into stirring rhythms, re-working the classic jazz timbre into something theatrically authentic and straight from the heart.

Priced at £10, tickets for An Evening With The Bobbysocks are available from Skiddle.

The following day, Sunday 17 November, Chew’s Yard will host a vintage market from 12pm to 5pm.

A must-do for vintage enthusiasts and treasure hunters alike, a range of goods will be on offer such as retro clothing, footwear, accessories, vinyl and more.

Stalls will including The Vintage Wardrobe, Lollipop Vintage, Where the Flowers Grow Art, Cotton Town Vintage , Gwalia Classics, The Bespoke Box Workshop, Millerz Arcade and Kev’s Shoe Shack.
