Two new electric vehicle (EV) charging points have been installed at Booths supermarket on Berry Lane, Longridge.
The company behind the chargers, InstaVolt, claim they will use 100 per cent green electricity from renewable sources, supplied through Octopus Energy for Business.
And the new chargers at Longridge are the fourth to be installed at a Booths site in the Preston area, with InstaVolt chargers already in place at the retailer’s branches in Fulwood, Longton and Penwortham.

Delvin Lane, chief executive of InstaVolt, said: “We are delighted to bring our award-winning rapid chargers to the area.
“EV drivers can be confident that when they arrive at the site they’ll find an easy to use charger with payment by contactless debit or credit card, as well as being able to enjoy the on-site driver amenities.”
There are now nearly 1.3 million fully electric cars on Britain’s roads, InstaVolt claimed, and it has plans to install 10,000 rapid chargers by 2030.
With 2,000 InstaVolt chargers currently in operation across the UK, its other charging points in the Preston area include sites at Lea Service Station; Fulwood Booths; Penwortham Booths; Grosvenor Garage, Chorley; and Longton Booths.
Drivers can visit the website, or sign up to the optional InstaVolt App, where they can find their nearest charging station, search for real-time availability across its sites, and pay for their charge – all in one place.
