A pub in Preston has reopened to the public after being given a significant makeover in a bid to put its troubled past behind it.

The Stanley Arms – now Stanley & Co -, on Lancaster Road, reopened on Friday night (22 November) after closing in late September.

Now under the guidance of Blind Tiger Inns, a £150,000 refurbishment has seen the pub turned from green to blue and aiming to be a pub that specialises in showing sport and other music events – but does not serve food.

The new team said they are pleased with the feedback they’ve had so far.

Todd Daniels, Stanley & Co’s new manager said: “What an amazing reaction we’ve had so far, I can’t wait to see what the rest of the weekend brings, especially tonight with Preston Light Switch on.

“Everyone adores the transformation, especially the exterior with the flower wall and the Christmas lights that make it look extra special at this time of year.

“We’re looking forward to the next couple of weeks with lots of live sport, DJs, and our Northern Soul nights that start next Friday. I can’t wait to meet everyone and get to know all the customers old and new.”

Blind Tiger Inns also have The Station Pub on Butler Street in Preston, along with The Broadfield Arms in Leyland, The Talbot in Euxton, The Wishing Well at Lostock Hall and The Townley Arms at Longridge.
