Preston will fall silent during Sunday morning to remember the fallen.
A Remembrance parade takes place through the city centre during Sunday (10 November).
Preston City Council has confirmed details of the service and parade, as well as road closures.

The procession begins at Preston Bus Station at 10.30am and finishes on the Flag Market for the Remembrance service to begin at 10.50am.
Armed Forces Champion, councillor Mel Close, said: “Remembrance Sunday gives the community an opportunity to pay their respects to all our military personnel who have made sacrifices for their country. It’s our chance to give thanks and pay tribute to them and their families and I would encourage everyone to go along and support their local Remembrance events.”
Dignitaries led by Mayor of Preston councillor Phil Crowe and groups of veterans and armed forces personnel will gather before the city’s Cenotaph.
The following roads are to be shut from 9am to 1pm on Remembrance Sunday
Tithebarn Street – from the junction with Old Vicarage to Lord Street
Lord Street – full length
Lancaster Road – from junction with Old Vicarage to Church Street
Church Street – from junction with Lancaster Road to junction with Fishergate
Fishergate – from junction with Church Street to junction with Cheapside
Cheapside, Market Place, Market Street, Earl Street, Birley Street and Jacson Street – full lengths
The map below shows the route planned for the parade. The red route shows the parade between the Bus Station and the Cenotaph, and then blue route shows the route heading away from the Cenotaph after the ceremony.
A Remembrance Sunday parade and service is due to take place in Broughton at the war memorial.
Garstang Road between the James Towers Way junction to a point 500 metres south of the Woodplumpton Lane junction near the village’s war memorial.
The road closure is in place from 11.30am to 12.45pm.
A Remembrance service is also due to be held in Grimsargh which will see uniformed Scout groups parade to the village’s war memorial during Sunday morning.
At the Cottam Maze at 10.45am on Sunday a Remembrance Service is taking place for the community in Cottam.
