Snow and ice greeted those waking in Preston this morning with weather warnings from multiple agencies still in place.
Preston’s snowfall was relatively modest compared to some areas of north and east Lancashire but roads will still require care this morning (19 November).
The warnings from the Met Office and National Highways are in place until 10am while the UK Health Security Agency cold weather warning will be in place until Saturday (23 November).

The road network, as of around 7am, has been mostly unaffected in central Lancashire.
Flooding in Ulverston means that trains between Lancaster and Barrow-in-Furness are cancelled with this disruption expected until 1pm today.
Darren Clark, National Highways Severe Weather Resilience Manager, said: “Gritters will be out treating our roads around the clock when ice or snow is forecast, but it is still important to drive to the conditions.
“Keep your distance and reduce your speed, because even in conditions that seem normal, and where the snow is not settling, it can be slippery if ice patches have formed, or where fresh grit has not been worked into the carriageway.
“Drivers should plan their journeys, monitor weather reports and pack a snow kit of blankets, food, water and a shovel.”
