A Preston venue is getting set to host two festive markets next month.

Local artists and makers will be at Chew’s Yard in Market Street West on Sunday 1 and Sunday 8 December.

Over 20 traders will be selling a range of products including prints, jewellery, ceramics, t-shirts, homewares, skincare and more.

Frank Whiteley, Chew’s Yard’s Operations Manager, said: “We have a magical programme of events lined up for the Christmas period.

“We begin with the Festive Markets. They were really popular last year, with lots of families and friends spending the afternoon browsing and buying from the stallholders, then having a meal and a drink in our food and drink hall.

“Adding to the festive spirit will be two different choirs singing Christmas carols in our food and drink hall from 2pm.”

The venue will also be hosting a range of acoustic acts and DJs, with many of the music events being free to attend. There will be a Christmas quiz, chess club and running club.

“There is something at Chew’s Yard for everyone, and we have a number of nights coming up that are free to attend,” said Frank.

“We are extending our opening hours for the Christmas period and we have planned a special New Year’s Eve party, which is just £5 to attend. It is the first time we have celebrated New Year’s Eve at Chew’s Yard and we want to make it a night to remember!”
