Preston man arrested after e-bike stopped and machete found in Walton-le-Dale

Two men acting suspiciously on an e-bike were stopped by police and a machete uncovered.

A 20-year-old man from Preston is in custody after officers stopped the man in Higher Walton Road at 4am on Friday (8 November).

The e-bike, which had two men on it, attempted to get away but officers from South Ribble Police were able to stop them in Walton-le-Dale.

After a search a large machete was uncovered and the e-bike was seized.

The second man involved was not arrested.

During Monday (11 November) police said Connor Heyes, 20, of School Field, Bamber Bridge, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon. He has been released on bail and will appear at Preston Magistrates Court on 12th December 2024.
