Preston Bus launch investigation into Deepdale Road crash

Preston Bus has launched an investigation after a man became trapped under one of their services.

Emergency services closed off Deepdale Road during Tuesday evening after a collision involving a pedestrian and a bus.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent crews to the scene and said they ‘extricated a male pedestrian from under a double decker bus’. Crews spent two hours in Deepdale Road.

A Preston Bus spokesperson told Blog Preston: “We can confirm that one of our vehicles was involved in a collision on Deepdale Road on Tuesday evening. We are currently investigating the incident and assisting the Police with their investigation.

“We are not yet in a position to provide any more information than that already provided by the emergency services.”

The road was shut for more than four hours after the incident which took place around 6pm.

Sergeant Phil Baxendale, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This collision has left a man with some very significant injuries and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened or has footage to contact us so we can piece together exactly what happened.”

Police are now appealing for witnesses and people with dashcam or mobile footage to get in touch with them. You can contact them on 101 quoting Log 1034 of 19 November.
