Preston will fall silent during Armistice Day commemorations.

A full civic service is to take place on the Flag Market with Prestonians able to attend and pay their respects.

To marking the end of fighting in the First World War a two minute silence is to be held in front of the Cenotaph on Monday (11 November) at 11am.

Dignitaries from the city’s civic, political and armed forces community will attend.

It follows the city’s Remembrance Sunday service which includes a full parade through the city centre.
