An investigation is continuing and no charges have been brought after a crash in Bamber Bridge led to the death of an unborn child.
A pregnant woman was struck by a car on Sunday, 29 September at Station Road in Bamber Bridge at around 8pm. The woman, in her 30s, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
She was taken into emergency surgery to deliver the child, but the boy died in hospital. Blog Preston understands that the woman is recovering.

Police had been appealing for information to recover the vehicle involved in the crash – which did not stop at the scene – and later recovered a Toyota Prius from an address in Bolton.
A number of arrests were made in the aftermath of the incident. A 19-year-old from Walton-le-Dale was arrested and later released on bail.
A 17-year-old girl from Lostock Hall, and a 40-year-old man from Blackburn were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and attempting to pervert the course of justice and were released pending further enquiries.
Two boys aged 16 and 17 and a 53-year-old man, all from Bamber Bridge, were arrested in connection with the incident before being bailed.
