Difficult travel conditions are likely as a result of dipping temperatures this evening, according to a new warning from the Met Office.
A yellow weather warning for ice has been issued covering Preston and much of the wider North West with temperatures set to dip below freezing.
The warning is in place from 4pm this evening (20 November) until 10am tomorrow (21 November) and speaks of icy patches on roads, pavements and cycles paths and the potential for injury.

Sleet and snow showers are also likely – but not impactful enough to warrant a warning.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Icy stretches are expected to form on untreated surfaces during Wednesday evening and overnight into Thursday as temperatures drop below freezing.
“A few sleet or snow showers are also likely at times, particularly close to coasts.”
A government health warning due to the cold weather is in place until Saturday.
