The A6 is showing heavy congestion as southbound traffic follows the diversion route.

Police are appealing for witnesses as a result of the crash. Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information can call police on 101 quoting log 0564 of today. You can also email the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at SCIU@lancashire.police.uk
