M6 partially blocked near Wigan due to multi-vehicle crash

There are significant delays on the M6 as a result of a multi-vehicle crash.

The incident began at around 7.30am this morning (26 November) and has seen a number of cars caught up the crash.

The carriageway is partially blocked between junction 27 and 26 southbound as a result of the incident.

There are delays of 40 minutes on top of additional journey time through this section of motorway.

A spokesperson for National Highways: North West said: “The M6 is partially blocked southbound between J27 for Wigan and J26 for the M58 due to a multi-vehicle collision.

“North West Motorway Police are in attendance.”
