Prestonā€™s Christmas Lights Switch On has welcomed in the festive season for the city.

A huge crowd gathered for the event at the Flag Market yesterday (Saturday 23 November) despite the wet weather brought by Storm Bert.

They were rewarded with free appearances from The Drifters, Clubland Reborn, Ryland Petty, Do It Like Dua, Roy Carter, Kimberley Fox, Halfmark, Mikey North, The Spud Bros, The Grinch, and, of course, Santa.

Our Switch On Star, Byron Highton, helped to light up the city with over two miles of vibrant, super-bright, low-energy lights, with animated displays adorning the Flag Market and Friargate.

Preston photographer Michael Porter was there to capture the festivities. Can you spot yourself in the crowd?
