Driver arrested after 120mph Subaru chase from Preston to Penwortham at 3am

A driver was arrested and a car seized after an incident in Preston.

Police reported at around 3am this morning (1 November) that a Subaru had failed to stop for road policing units in Preston – leading officers on a chase that reached speeds of up to 120mph.

The car was abandoned in Penwortham and the driver was soon arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving. The vehicle was seized and a number of defects were found.

A spokesperson for police said: “This Subaru failed to stop for an RPU officer in Preston reaching speeds up to 120mph before being abandoned in Penwortham.

“Driver arrested for dangerous and drink drive. Vehicle seized and also prohibited due to a number of defects.”
