A grade-II listed building in Church Street is continuing to be demolished due to fire damage – but businesses are feeling the impact of disruption in the area.
The upper floors of 131A Church Street started to be brought down on Wednesday and continued into Thursday and Friday.
Preston City Council say they are awaiting an update from the demolition contractor although the building was due to be demolished by the end of Thursday (21 November).

Yesterday (22 November) the front of the building was being brought down.
The road closure on Church Street is still in place however, Lord’s Walk leading to Church Row is open.
Site security will be in place over the weekend.
Cake Box, a dessert shop, situated directly opposite the demolition site said they had to be closed during Friday and Saturday last week due to the fire.
Humaira who works in the shop told Blog Preston: “People had to order online and it was just collection orders, people couldn’t come in and buy the cakes.
“Friday and Saturdays are usually our busiest days too. It’s picked up a bit now.”
She was in the shop on Tuesday 12 November when the fire ravaged the building.
“It was quite scary, the fire was huge!”
After a structural inspection, the floors of the building above the Aliz takeaway are to be taken down but the takeaway itself will remain.
