Cycling from Preston to Blackpool and back to show solidarity to Palestine

A cycling club took on a bike ride from Preston to Blackpool and back to show solidarity with the plight of people suffering as a result of war in Gaza.

Slow Spokes cycling club, based in Preston, is made up of cyclists from across Lancashire and they took on the 56km ride on Sunday, 3 November, stopping at the Comedy Carpet under Blackpool Tower in between.

Saheed Umar, 50 and from Preston, said on the day: “We’re riders from Preston, we support a lot of local causes. Today we’re here to support the ride part of Run the Wall and supporting The Amos Trust.

“Our main aim is to ride the distance from Preston to Blackpool and back and it’s been a fantastic day.”

Every year for Run the Wall, people take on running, walking, riding or swimming events to call for an end to the conflict in Gaza and to urge the UK government to recognise a Palestinian state.
