A community group dedicated to maintaining and improving a Fulwood park is set to receive a £30k funding boost.
Friends of Conway Park will use the money to continue upgrading the public amenity with a new access path. The funding has been awarded from the King’s Coronation fund and the Lancashire Environmental Fund after successful applications from volunteers.
The nature of the fund means it must go through Preston City Council, whose cabinet is due to agree to process it at a meeting on Wednesday (6 November).

A report prepared for the meeting explains: “The Friends of Conway Park have worked with Neighbourhood Services on a variety of improvement projects over recent years the most recent being an extension to the existing play facilities. The Coronation Walk project is an access and biodiversity improvement project.
“Following a consultation process carried out by The Friends of Conway Park with local residents and the users of Conway Park it was determined that users would like a new access path to the north of the site to improve the access on the park. This work will be in addition to the the biodiversity enhancements already undertaken by the group, Let’s grow Preston and community volunteers.
