An upcoming health, wellbeing and mezbaan event in Fishwick will raise funds for charity.

The free event is an opportunity to learn more about health and wellness, enjoy nutritious refreshments, and support Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

Taking place on Saturday 30 November at Preston Community Hub in Samuel Street, the event will feature:

  • Four expert-led seminars covering depression and anxiety, women’s health, diabetes, and heart health
  • Free health checks: Blood pressure and diabetes screenings available on site
  • Expert guidance: One-on-one health advice to support your wellbeing
  • Family-friendly activities: Nutritious refreshments, chaii, a bouncy castle, henna art, and more

Dr Faheem Shakur of Stonyhill Practice is behind the event.

Dr Shakur said: “Rosemere’s impact on our community is profound. Based at Royal Preston Hospital’s specialist cancer centre, they also extend support to oncology units across Barrow, Blackburn, Blackpool, Burnley, Chorley, Kendal, and Lancaster.

“Their work is dedicated to advancing cancer care through four core areas: specialist equipment, patient welfare, research, and staff training.

“With one in two people in the UK developing cancer at some point in their lives, every contribution counts. Whether you’re helping fund £200 for comfort items or contributing to the £237k needed for life-saving equipment, every donation makes a tangible impact on local patients and their families.

“Join us on 30 November to support this vital cause while enjoying health insights and connecting with your community.”
