Six holiday cottages could be built on farmland between Ribchester and Longridge, if approved.
Proposals have been lodged with Ribble Valley Council for the development at Tan Yard Farm, Ribchester Road, Hothersall.
Sitting between Longridge and Ribchester, the farm is behind the Asturian Gate housing estate, which itself sits on the former site of Ribchester workhouse.

In a planning statement by Pegasus Group on behalf of Cheshire-based Woodhouse Bespoke, is says that outline permission is sought for the six holiday cottages.
It adds: “There will be six holiday cottages with gardens, two parking spaces per dwelling with an area of private amenity space to the south of the site.
“The proposals will be designed to be small-scale in nature, appropriate to the rural context and to complement the existing development on Tan Yard Farm.
“New planting would also be proposed to soften the site and to ensure the proposals are sensitively integrated within the wider landscape.”
The area has seen a proliferation of holiday lets in recent years, with former farm buildings often converted in this manner.
