Services between Preston and Lancaster held after person hit by train

Services heading north out of Preston are currently held after a person was hit by a train.

All lines between Preston and Lancaster, a key route connecting the north of England to the Midlands and the South, are blocked as a result of the incident.

Delays of up to 120 minutes are expected, according to Avanti West Coast.

London North Eastern Railway, Northern, Scotrail and CrossCountry are accepting tickets via any reasonable route until further notice.
