A busy junction at the city’s Docks saw major delays following a crash.

Riversway close to McDonalds at the crossroads with Mariners Way and Pedders Lane had police on the scene.

The crash took place around 6.30am on Tuesday (29 October).

A police spokesperson said: “We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on Riversway near to McDonalds.

“As a result Mariners Way and Riversway is currently closed.

“Please avoid the area and follow any directions from officers at the scene.”

The crash is understood to be ‘damage-only’ according to police.

The road re-opened around 8am on Tuesday.

An earlier report suggested the traffic lights at the junction had not been working – they were recently upgraded this summer as part of major work to upgrade traffic signals at a number of key city junctions.
