A man has been charged after the theft of gift sets from a city centre store.
Police received reports that numerous gift sets were stolen from Matalan in St George’s Shopping Centre at around 1pm on Friday (5 October).
A 35-year-old man was arrested nearby.

Callum Fitzpatrick, 35, of St Michael’s Road, Preston has been charged with theft from a shop will appear before Preston Magistrates Court this morning (7 October).
A spokesperson for police said: “Operation Vulture is Lancashire Constabulary’s response to shoplifting across the county, backed by Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.
“The operation sees dedicated officers undertaking hotspot patrolling, increasing their visibility in targeted areas and creating strong partnerships with retailers across the county to better share intelligence, get a deeper understanding of retail crime and identify more offenders.”
