Proposals to install traffic calming measures near a recently built housing development in Goosnargh have been approved.
Lancashire County Council (LCC) approved the decision which will see alterations made at the junction of Chingle Hall Crescent and Goosnargh Lane.
In its approval document, LCC stated: “The purpose of the proposed junction table and two road humps is to slow traffic and allow safe passage of pedestrians due to the increase in traffic from the new housing
development.”

The proposals were approved last month and will hopefully ease the concerns of some residents over the impact of increasing traffic levels in the village.
In recent years Goosnargh has witnessed a surge in house building, which has raised fears over the impact the extra houses will have on the existing road network, as well as the pressure the growing population will put on core services such as GPs surgeries and schools.
In fact, the Chingle Hall Crescent development sits not far from Goosnargh’s Oliverson’s Church of England Primary School which, in plans are approved, could double in size to cope with the lack of available school places in the area.
Blog Preston recently reported on plans to increase Oliverson’s admission number from 30 to 60 every year to cope with rising demand.
