A link road to the west of the city has been shut due to a crash.
Preston Police say Edith Rigby Way – also known as the Preston Western Distributor – is shut in both directions.
Update: The road re-opened around 9pm on Wednesday and a man is seriously injured
The stretch from the A583, where it meets the Docks and Lea Gate, up to Avice Pimblett Way is closed.

The crash took place shortly before 6pm on Wednesday (16 October). There is a major emergency services response to the crash.
An eyewitness reported seeing one car severely damaged close to where the Preston Western Distributor meets the roundabout near the Docks and the A583.
No re-opening time has been given and motorists are being urged to find an alternative route.
