A Lostock Hall pub which attracted frequent noise complaints from neighbours will not be allowed TVs or speakers in its new external bar area.
The Hunters, on Hennel Lane, has caused frustration with those living nearby in recent years, with complaints referencing issues with live music and during sporting events.
In 2021, the venue came close to losing its licence over disorder seen during the Euro 2020 final. That led to new licensing conditions being imposed and a further limitation came this month in response to a planning application to replace the external bar area.

Pub bosses have received permission to replace the stretch tent which has covered that area with an aluminium pergola. The new structure comprises an aluminium structure with an aluminium electric shutter system.
In granting that application, South Ribble Borough Council said it had reminded the operators of a requirement not to allow people to sit outside after 10pm.
The new condition states that “No external speakers / televisions shall be installed or utilised within the external area of the property”.
A total of 37 letters of representation were submitted in response to the planning application, 28 in support and nine objecting.
A report prepared for the committee meeting stated: “It is considered the proposal will have a positive impact on the character and appearance of the area by removing the ad hoc appearance of the stretch tent and replacement with a purpose-built aluminium structure.”
