The Birley is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special edition of its annual studio members exhibition.

The creative hub began as a modest art space in the ground floor of former Preston City Council offices and has since grown into a thriving community of over 25 talented artists.

Established in 2014, the artist-led studios was set up by Post Post CIC, a not-for-profit organisation made up of UCLan arts and media graduates.

Prior to setting up the studio, members ran temporary project spaces including the Guildhall Project Space.

In 2019 The Birley expanded into the first floor of the building, more than tripling in size, and now has a range of artists from emerging to established and internationally recognised.

To mark the 10-year milestone, The Birley is inviting the public to join in the celebrations by visiting the exhibition.

The exhibition showcases the diverse works of The Birley’s resident artists, reflecting the growth and creative spirit that have defined the space over the last decade.

With a variety of artistic styles and mediums on display, visitors can expect an exciting and engaging glimpse into the heart of Preston’s art scene.

The exhibition launched at the end of August and is now in its final week. It will be open on Thursday 12, Friday 13 and Saturday 14 September from 11am to 4pm.
