Preston’s Hindu Temple hosted its annual charity challenge to raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice.
BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir took part in the 10k challenge, as part of its ongoing community outreach initiative.
Despite bad weather and persistent rain, more than 75 people completed the walk.
The route was walked by people of all ages, from six to over 70 years old.
Geetanjali Limbachia, a volunteer at the temple, said, “St Catherine’s Hospice has provided exceptional care to loved ones with terminal cancer.
“The hospice’s compassionate support was especially meaningful to us when Mr Vrajlal Limbachia, known affectionately as Babubhai, a long-time volunteer at the temple, was in their care.
“We are proud to have raised funds for such an incredible charity.”

The challenge began at the Mandir and guided walkers through Preston’s Fishergate, the scenic Avenham Park, and along the Guild Wheel Path, before concluding back at the Mandir.
The Mayor of Preston, Councillor Phil Crowe, started the event. He expressed his delight at witnessing so many people coming together for such a worthy cause and wished everyone the best of luck, congratulating BAPS for organising the event to support St Catherine’s Hospice.
Councillor Naweeda Khan and Andrew Pratt MBE also joined the walkers.
