A person was rescued from Preston Docks after a concern for welfare incident.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Mariners Way at around 4.11pm yesterday (27 September) after reports of a concern for welfare.
Crews from Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service used a boat and sled to rescue the person, who had entered the water, and they were then passed into the care of North West Ambulance Service.

Roads in the area were closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said: “At 16:11 on the 26th September 2024, four fire engines from Penwortham, Preston, Fulwood and Darwen attended a rescue of a person at Mariners Way, Preston.
“Firefighters used the boat and the sled to rescue the casualty who was transferred into the care of North West Ambulance Service. Crews were in attendance for forty five minutes.”
Lancashire Constabulary were also in attendance.
