A new STEM-focused education provider has been launched in Penwortham for children aged 5-13, aiming to encourage the engineers of the future.
Young Engineers Preston is based at Penwowtham Sports and Social Club, Leyland Road, Preston where the team hosts weekend classes.
During the classes, children build different models every week followed by specific learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths (STEM).

Launching various demo classes a few weeks ago, the owner, Mayank Soni said they had an ‘overwhelming response from serious parents and children.’
He added: “This is more beneficial to young children to learn about some serious topics from an early age helping them to build creative thinking process.”
Programmes include the learning of key principles such as the workings of gears, transmissions and forces while building models from amusement park rides to robots.

Young Engineers Preston is already fully booked with their first batch of 16 children for their 34-weeks Bricks Challenge course. They are now registering for their second batch.
Mayank said: “These lessons not only foster understanding but also encourage creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, essential for the engineers of the future.”
Each class, which has a minimum of four weeks commitment, is £12.50, with siblings paying £10. The price includes refreshments for children and their parents.
