There are delays of more than an hour after the M61 was closed northbound where it meets the M6.

Traffic was stopped between the Bamber Bridge junction where the motorway meets the M65 and the slip road onto the M6 at Junction 30.

National Highways North West say it was closed due to a crash around 8.30am on Thursday (12 September).
