There are delays on the M6 this afternoon after an earlier crash.

The delays are between junction 29 for Bamber Bridge and junction 32 at Broughton on the M6 northbound today (16 September) due to a crash that took place earlier in the afternoon.

There are delays of 20 minutes greater than you would otherwise expect at this time of day, according to Traffic England.

Traffic is expected to return to normal between 5.30pm and 5.45pm this evening, they said.

A broken down vehicle within the congestion area is adding to congestion.

There are also delays on the M61 northbound where it meets the M6 as a result.
