One of Preston’s oldest traditions takes place in the city centre during Wednesday morning.

The Judge’s Procession sees the city’s judiciary parade around to mark the start of the legal year – with a service at Preston Minster.

Taking place on Wednesday (2 October) the procession runs from 9.30am to 11.30am.

Road closures take place between 9.30am and 10am and then again from 10.45am to 11.30am.

Birley Street – its full length – and Church Street – from the junction with Birley Street to St John’s Place – close as part of the procession.
