Fulwood Barracks ‘stranded vehicle’ saw Watling Street Road closed

A key road through Fulwood was closed for part of Monday (23 September) evening.

It followed a low-loading army vehicle becoming stuck outside the Barracks in Watling Street Road.

Preston Police shut the road – close to the junction with Sir Tom Finney Way.

The vehicle was stuck on the grass area infront of the Barracks.

Police closed the road around 8pm to allow for recovery of the vehicle. The road was shut for around an hour.

A police spokesperson said there were no suspicious circumstances and the road was closed as a precaution to allow for the recovery vehicles.
