Continuous rain throughout Monday has triggered a flood alert for part of the River Ribble and River Darwen at Preston.
A flood alert – the lowest level issued by the Environment Agency – urges may people to be aware as rising river levels throughout Monday afternoon may lead to flooding.
The flood alert covers the River Ribble from Samlesbury through to Walton-le-Dale, Penwortham and the Docks.

The River Darwen from Samlesbury to Walton-le-Dale is also included.
The alert also states: “Further flooding is possible this evening as river levels remain high due to heavy rainfall.
“Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.”
A Met Office heavy rain warning is in force until Monday (30 September) at 8pm.
