An investigation has been launched by Preston Bus after a vehicle caught fire.
Deepdale Road was closed between the junctions of St George’s Road and Argyll Road due to the fire which was reported at around 8.30am this morning (September 18).
Crews from Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service attended and the fire was extinguished. There was significant damage to the front of the bus.

The road was closed for several hours and repair works are now underway that could cause delays.
A spokesperson for police said: “Repair works are currently underway on the road so it may take longer to get through this area, so we would still advise avoiding if your travel isn’t urgent.”
A spokesperson for Preston Bus said: “The bus hadn’t entered service so there were no passengers on board.
“We are currently conducting an internal investigation.”
The driver was not hurt in the fire.
