Broughton crossroads crash sees driver cut from car

A driver was rescued from an overturned car at a city accident blackspot during Friday lunchtime.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the Broughton crossroads around 12noon on Friday (6 September).

Garstang Road and the Broughton crossroads were shut for around an hour while emergency services worked at the scene.

Preston Police told Blog Preston it was a ‘damage-only’ collision.

Fire crews from Preston and Fulwood attended and cut the person free. They were taken to hospital.

Stagecoach re-routed the 40 and 41 bus services while the road was closed.

The road fully re-opened around 1.30pm on Friday.
