A residents parking zone is being put in place covering dozens of Preston streets close to Moor Park this weekend.
The permits are being issued to stop festival-goers parking on the roads surrounding Moor Park while the BBC Radio 2 In The Park festival is on.
Parking enforcement officers will be out and any car parked without a permit will receive a penalty charge notice.

Here’s all the information you need about whether you need a permit to park over the weekend of Saturday 7 September and Sunday 8 September.
Anyone living within the residents parking zone must apply for a permit
It runs from 8am to 12midnight on Saturday 7 September and Sunday 8 September

Your property is not within the residents parking zone.
The online form will ask for name, address including post code, email address, phone number, vehicle registration number and a proof of address such as a utility bill or driving licence.
You will be notified if your application is successful and you’ll be able to print off your permit
You can go to the Harris Library which is temporarily in the ground floor of the Guild Hall in Lancaster Road and they will print the permit for you. Or ask friends/family if they can print it for you.

The city council had been urging people to register by Tuesday (3 September) but Blog Preston understands you can apply at any point up to when the festival is on and still receive your permit. But the sooner, the better.

We asked the city council and they said not all households have a car, and there needed to be some element of control over who was receiving a permit. And they didn’t want people from outside the residents permit zone applying for a permit, or the permits being sold on.
