BBC Radio 2 In The Park Preston: Day-by-day weather forecast for Moor Park

As BBC Radio 2 In The Park continues to set up on Moor Park all eyes are turning to what will the weather do.

More than 30,000 people are expected each day of the festival during the weekend of Saturday (7 September) and Sunday (8 September).

There’s also the Pre-Party taking place with Radio 2 DJs on the Friday evening.

Despite Preston being one of the wettest cities and towns in the UK, it’s due to hold up okay for the festival according to forecasters.

Here’s the latest forecast from the Met Office and how it looks for each day of the festival.

Friday (6 September)

Afternoon – Due to be sunny intervals from 4pm onwards and 21 degrees, and a breeze of 20mph

Evening – Temperatures at 18 degrees on a mild evening, although it will become overcast around 7pm.

Saturday (7 September) – gates open at 11am

Morning – Temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees with sunny intervals and light winds of 20mph. A pleasant morning in the city.

Afternoon – Highs of 21 degrees between 1pm to 4pm and continued sunshine. There’s a 20 per cent chance of rain.

Evening – Starts to cloud over by 7pm but temperatures stay around 19 degrees.

Sunday (8 September) – gates open 11am

Morning – An overcast morning, with a 20 per cent chance of rain. Temperatures building to 17 degrees by mid-morning. Wind speed is very low.

Afternoon – Remains cloudy but temperatures of 19 degrees by 4pm.

Evening – A 20 per cent chance of rain but likely to be just cloudy for the evening.
