Traffic on the M6 was brought to a standstill after reports of a concern for welfare.

Police were called to reports that a person had been seen on a bridge. North West Ambulance Service were also called to the scene.

Officers from Lancashire Constabulary attended but were unable to find anybody, Blog Preston understands.

North West Ambulance Service left the scene without treating anyone. It is not clear if the call to emergency services was malicious or if a person has left the scene before they arrived.
