The M6 is closed in both directions south of Preston after a serious crash involving an overturned lorry.
Police, North West Ambulance Service, Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service and the air ambulance are all in attendance at the incident between junction 28 for Leyland and 27 for Wigan.
Update given by police on the closure and crash.
The incident was first reported at around 2.45pm this afternoon (30 August) with normal traffic conditions not expected to resume until approximately 5.45pm.

A spokesperson for National Highways North West said: “The M6 in Lancashire is closed in both directions between J27 Wigan and J28 Leyland due to a serious collision. Air Ambulance is currently on scene. Delays of at least 50 minutes above normal travel time.”
A spokesperson for police said: “We currently have a motorway closure in place on the M6, just north of junction 27 in both directions. This is due to an overturned Lorry. This is likely to be closed for some time.”
