Jalgos Sports and Social Club is set to host an event celebrating the legacies of cricket and Carnival in Preston.

The event, which takes place on Thursday 15 August, will be a chance for people to share their memories and experiences through the years.

It will also be an opportunity to preview a forthcoming 50th anniversary exhibition of Preston Caribbean Carnival, which will be held at Lancashire Archives.

One of the people behind the event, historian Stephen Poleon, said: “Come along to share your memories of playing cricket, watching it on Moor Park, or simply attending the many activities held by both clubs over the years.

“You can also share your memories and experience of Carnival in Preston, and help contribute to the exhibition and creation of a Caribbean Cricket and Social Club Archive.”
