Footage sent to Blog Preston clearly has an explosion sound audible.
Gemma Taylor, who is on holiday in Spain, went to check her doorbell camera after seeing a post on the We Are Fulwood group about the bang.
She said: “We live on Cromwell Road and after I saw the post thought I’d check and you can hear it clearly.
“My husband is at home and it didn’t wake him up but he’s a heavy sleeper!”
Listen to the ‘loud bang’ below or on YouTube.
Plenty of other We Are Fulwood group members reported being startled awake at 1.55am on Thursday by the noise.
Another who heard it was Michelle Finley, who lives close to Fulwood Barracks on Coniston Road, she also captured the loud bang on her doorbell camera. You can listen below or on YouTube.
Blog Preston contacted Preston Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service who said they had no reports of an explosion or attended any incidents.
We also contacted the Ministry of Defence, as many people had commented about their proximity to the Barracks, and a spokesperson said they would look into it.
Preston City Council said they are also checking with ‘the relevant teams’ for any reports or incidents.
