Motorists in Barton have been driven to distraction in recent weeks as utilities replacement work took place.
Drivers had taken to Facebook on several occasions to voice their frustration at long delays on the A6 in Barton, firstly near the junction of Station Road and then outside the former Boar’s Head pub further up towards Garstang, both due to temporary traffic lights.
The work near Station Lane is due to last until 1 September and is seeing construction company Westshield install a new rising main and manhole, according to the Lancashire County Council roadworks bulletin.

The other temporary lights slightly further up the A6 were due to Cadent Gas trying to find and then repair a gas leak. These were due to be removed this week (20 August).
