Ribble Valley general election results with new MP to be decided

Ribble Valley’s new MP was decided in the early hours of Friday morning.

Six candidates were standing in the constituency with all major parties represented and one independent candidate.

A hustings event hosted last month focused on the protection of green belt land, the concerns of local people, NHS waiting times, water companies and middle-class substance abuse.

Nigel Evans was the incumbent MP having been elected as far back as 1992.

Candidates and results

Qasim Ajmi – Independent – 1,273

John Carroll – Reform UK – 8,524

Maya Ellis – Labour – 18,177 (elected)

Nigel Evans – Conservative and Unionist Party – 17,321

Caroline Montague – Green Party – 1,727

John Potter – Liberal Democrats – 5,001
