An unusual monument is set to make its return to the side of the M6 near Preston this weekend.
The giraffe which stood just off the motorway near Barton between Junction 32 and Junction 33 was damaged two years ago in a storm.
But a city business is planning to bring ‘Gerry the Giraffe’ back.

Gerry was dislodged by gale-force winds but will be returned to his rightful place during Saturday (20 July).
Owner of Stone UK, based in Barton, David Evans is behind the restoration of Gerry.
He said: “We’ve had so many people asking about whether the M6 Giraffe is going to come back. It was the highlight of their motorway journey. We’re really pleased we can make this happen again.”
The new-look Gerry will be branded with #m6giraffe which encourages people to share their M6 Giraffe stories and memories.
