Buses and motorists are being diverted from a road on the outskirts of Preston due to a water leak.
United Utilities has confirmed they are undertaking a ‘large excavation’ in Goosnargh Lane.
The road between Langley Lane and Mill Lane is shut to traffic – with Preston Bus diverting their 45 and 46 services due to the ‘urgent works’.

A spokesperson for United Utilities said: “Our team is carrying out repairs on a burst water main in Goosnargh Lane. As this is a large excavation it has been necessary to close the road to allow the repairs and reinstatement to be carried out safely. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
The work is due to be completed during Monday (8 July).
Preston Bus said: “Goosnargh Lane is closed due to emergency road works, service 45 and 46 need to use Whittingham Lane please (outbound journeys don’t turn left Langley Lane, carry on straight down Whittingham Lane and you will be back on route at the near Stags Head. Inbound continue along Whittingham Lane.”
